For years, Howard Stern has been a devoted Palm user, but more recently he's discussed switching to a new smartphone. Like many consumers, Stern narrowed the field between a BlackBerry and the iPhone 3G. Looking to capitalize on a marketing opportunity, Palm reps went as far as to contact Stern for a private demo of the Palm Pre.

Despite a personal one on one demo from Palm, Stern chose the BlackBerry Bold. The deciding factor was the Palm Pre's inability to connect to Lotus Notes.
