The BlackBerry Storm has reportedly entered Verizon's TA (technical acceptance), which normally takes 3-4 weeks to complete. Internally the device has been delayed 3-4 weeks while they work out the kinks. This puts the release date for the BlackBerry Storm at mid-November. You can bet that Verizon will look to get this device into stores before Black Friday. Look for a major ad push when it releases.

ColorWare has gotten the jump on the BlackBerry Bold offering custom paint jobs. For those unfamiliar with ColorWare, they offer high quality customizations of gadgets and now they've added the BlackBerry Bold to the fray. You can choose from metallic or flat colors. All have the same high-gloss, scratch resistant finish.  Pricing starts at $129, but varies depending upon your customization choices. You'll have to send in your Bold and expect a 2 week turnaround time.

AT&T has targeted late September for the release of the BlackBerry Curve 8320. The BlackBerry 8320 will sport a new sapphire blue finish and will launch with OS 4.5. It also features integrated WiFi allowing for free automatic login at 17,000 hotspots including Starbuck's. An optional Bluetooth GPS accessory is necessary for turn-by-turn directions.

The release date for the BlackBerry Bold continues to slip. BGR reports that the BlackBerry Bold will release on AT&T on October 2nd. This is a Thursday, so either fight the lines at your local AT&T store or prepare for an overnight shipping charge if you hope to have the Bold in your hands before the weekend.

Originally rumored to be the BlackBerry Thunder, RIM's first touchscreen BlackBerry will debut under the moniker BlackBerry Storm 9530. Expect the BlackBerry Storm 9530 later this year on Verizon Wireless. Wow, Verizon first to score a new BlackBerry. That's usually reserved for AT&T, but I'm sure they'll have their hands full with the BlackBerry Bold release. Engadget reports that the Thunder branding is not dead just yet, with Rogers and Vodafone releasing the 9530 as the Thunder.

Today I'm pleased  to introduce a new BlackBerry blog section here at Everything Berry. Simply put, the blog allows us to introduce new writers to the site and expand our coverage. Without getting too much into detail, the existing method of posting news was not very straightforward and didn't support a multi-writer format.

The blog component changes all of this. In the interim, you'll find the major news stories gracing the homepage. The blog will focus on smaller stories and will be updated more often. The blog allows us to expand our writing staff and our coverage. Over time, I expect the blog will converge with the homepage news, however we have a few technology hurdles to get over before that can happen. In the meantime, please accept my apologies for the fractured content delivery. I'm hopeful this will be resolved sometime in September.
