Best Buy is now taking pre-orders for the Verizon BlackBerry Storm. They have yet to provide an actual release date, but of course we continue to hear November 14th. To lock up a Storm, you'll need to provide them with a $50 refundable deposit. Best Buy will guarantee that you will get a BlackBerry Storm when it's released. Pricing is expected to be in the range of $199 and $299 with a 2-year commitment.
Verizon has yet to announce the pricing of the BlackBerry Storm, but we can speculate on the price thanks to a contest terms for Verizon's BlackBerry Storm scavenger hunt. The guesstimate is of the average retail price will be $499 ($549 -$50 gift card).

Folks, there is absolutely no way to sugarcoat this mess. Yesterday, we noted that Vodafone had launched a pretty slick flash based website promoting the BlackBerry Storm. It seems Vodafone had Storm marketing materials that included screenshots from iPhones and even from BlackBerry fan sites. Wow, talk about a shortcut and one that will land some designer in hot water.
Vodafone has made it official, with the BlackBerry Storm debuting on their website. They have yet provide an official launch date, only to say the Storm is "launching soon". Those in the UK can sign up for a chance to win one of 20 BlackBerry Storm smartphones. The company has put together a rather interesting flash video that takes you on a tour of the Storm.
