Well, I am stumped and I am not seeing much searching the web.
I suggest you still try putting the theme back to the one before the change, preferably one of the themes that came with the BB, and doing a battery pull to see if the Java in the new theme (assuming it is Java based) is not playing nice with OperaMini Java.
Last try would be to delete OperaMini and try reloading.
Please do let us know what happens. I will keep poking around....
