Thanks to a post by member ||girlybb|| I took a look at Windows Live Search and I must say, I find it to be a very impressive little program.
I loaded it almost a month ago, but I just recently began to use it. It is fast and reasonably accurate for what I have used it for. I have just explored the local shopping, movies and a bit of the mapping capabilities and I am quite dazzled so far. Got my wife some driving directions in less time than it took to type the address in.
I like that you plug in your home location and all the searches you do are based on that, but you can change that on the fly. Also available is chat through Windows Live Messenger and Hotmail, but I am not a user of those.
I am a bit confused over how listings appear and why others don't. Some categories seem to be so complete they are scary, but others appear sparse so I think this will take some more time to learn the ins and outs. Want Pizza? That list was chock full of all the ones I know of and a few I didn't know about. Yet Tune Up Service barely had a few when there are dozens. That could be due to the way the listing is in the phone directory.
I would love to set up my own categories, but that doesn't seem to be available.
If you are on your PC reading this you might want to take a look at the
BlackBerry page here.
An OTA download is available
here....
Take a look and I hope you enjoy it half as much as I have been.
