The dreaded (in cellular-speak) north shore...Northport/East Northport.

A NIMBY neighborhood if there ever was one. I was thinking of offering TMobile an opportunity to place a tower on my roof, but I am guessing there are pesky town regulations.

The north shore is and always has been a cellular nightmare. Hilly, many treed locations, etc. Oh, and way to many wealthy indivuduals who don't want towers....blah, blah, blah. You know what I'm talkin' about, eh?

I know how bad Sprint has been here at home with the three-year Treo trial , but I also remember Verizon and AT&T having the same issues so I think I am going to give it a shot with the Pearl on TMobile for my daughter. I must say IU notice a good difference in my connections using the 8830 now. Much improved and peppier all around. According to the coverage map, looks like coverage at her school is much less likely to be problematic.

As long as she truly tells me if it is usable before the 14 day trial period. Those youngsters her age, 20 next week <sigh> are always afraid to say bad things because they are afraid they won't get a replacement or it might take more than six minutes and what can they do in the meantime.....
