Rb, doesn't the radio bands for the GSM network not have to be for the US? Aren't you still going to use the phone on Verizon? You just want to switch SIM cards.

you are all confusing me... and yes, i want a BB with keyboard/TB which i can use with the sim i have in the Storm, Verizon..

Okay. Steve was mentioning to check and make sure the radio bands work in the US, which is kind of pointless because it's a Verizon phone and you're going to use it on Verizon.

oooh yes, the owner of the 8830 is with Verizon, now all i have to do is find out if it has a sim slot..

Btw, just do a Google search on BlackBerry 8830 SIM card. You'll see a ton of references to it having a SIM card.

so... what you are saying (and i read it on links as well) it has a slot, but VZW ships the devices without a actual sim card which works on their network.
