Pretty much, it should have the SIM card slot. I don't know if it should come with one but at this point it doesn't matter seeing how you have one already from your Storm.

yes i do have a sim, question is will it work in the 8830 if that device works on the VZW network without sim.

That's what I'm thinking. You want to switch SIMs as an AT&T or TMo user would right? I'm still not sure if thatll work with VZW.
