Definitely will upgrade to this.
Wondering which is the better way to go- wireless or computer download??
Any opinions anyone?

Personal opinion is that I would do it on the PC, but I am an old fart stuck in my ways.
I would also download so I have the current OS available and installed on my PC so if something has to be added, changed, etc, I would have it available through the BB DM.

I agree about PC download. When the official Verizon Storm update came out, some complained on how long it took doing it on the handset.

The device wipe (I always do this now), OS download, and install went fine. Except I got the dreaded white screen that wouldn't go away after the battery pull. So I disconnected the data cable and did another battery pull and that cured it. I attribute this to operator error.
I provisioned Visual Voice Mail with no problem via the at&t website under my account, then set it up on the device as instructed. Very easy. I use this web feature anyway to manage my plan and keep tabs on minutes used, etc. - to prevent long wait times on hold for customer service. I am not convinced visual voice mail will be a great boon for me as I don't get a ton of messages anyway. Don't know if it will end up just being a battery drain pain. It can always be removed.
I _maybe_ gained a couple of MBs - nothing significant. I am reserving an opinion on this new OS until it's had time to settle in. But so far so good and it does feel pretty snappy navigating around.
It was weird not needing to delete the vendor file, though.

Wow, they finally came out with one huh. Anybody else do this? Figure out whether or not it's worth it to upgrade?

You wouldn't have to delete the vendor file because this is an official AT&T branded update. Your Bold is an AT&T one, isn't it?

Yup at&t. It did seem funny to not have to delete the vendor file - the first time I didn't need to! It felt wrong. That extra step was half the fun. lol.
So far I'm really liking this build. It's stable and snappy. My other favorite was .247. The only other OS I haven't tried is .292 and that other hybrid one. But since this is an official from at&t I'll stick with it. It's working very well--but not by huge leaps and bounds. I would recommend it esp. for at&t folks.
When I first came to Everything Berry from Everything Treo then Everything Centro, I was very timid and unsure about all this stuff--very different from Palm world. And now I actually enjoy installing a new OS and trying it out, deleting bloat cod files, various other BB maintenance issues, reinstalling 3 party apps for the millionth time. So thanks for all the help you all continue to provide along the way. Couldn't 'a done it without 'ya.
