joe, it sounds like you may have corrupted data or possibly a bad contact or something similar.

Does it fail at the same point every time? Can you see what that point is, a contact or calendar item or something?

Since it last backed up successfully and now have you received any messages with attachments such as emails, MMS, etc?

If you go to the advanced tab for DM and check all except the messages to be backed up, does the backup complete?

How do you do what? This?
If you go to the advanced tab for DM and check all except the messages to be backed up, does the backup complete?

When you start up DM > Advanced > You should see a list of all the databases on your device listed on the right side and select the Messages one and choose that to not back up.

Also, you could Select the Backup Option in DM (left side?) > Options > Look for Backup all except Messages > Go back to DM screen and select Backup.

I can't see the exact lists of databases as mine is set for all wireless backup on a BES system so this is from memory....

You are looking to br able to back up everything except the Messages Database.

    How about the second method?

Also, you could Select the Backup Option in DM (left side?) > Options > Look for Backup all except Messages > Go back to DM screen and select Backup.
