Screen is blank
Today at work my battery got really low due to Podtrapper downloading a bunch of podcasts, and I was working away from my desk so the device was not plugged in for awhile. Anyway, by the time I got a chance to charge it the battery level indicator had turned yellow and it was down to one notch. I allowed it to charge for about an hour and a half. When I next tried to use it the screen had turned blank....almost a grayish white color. I received a call, and I can hear my tone when I receive new email.......I just can't see anything on the screen. Is this a common problem? Did letting the battery get so low cause this problem? BTW, I took the battery out and let it sit for 2 hours. I just put it back in a few minutes ago, and the problem still exists.

Odd...Try doing a Battery Pull first. With the device ON, remove the battery, count to twenty and replace.
Taking out and letting it sit for hours is not the same...
Allow to reboot and see if it recovers.

I tried the battery pull with the device on, but had no luck. I got the same results.

Sorry for the delayed response. This pesky full-time job you know....
I hope you didn't get a corrupted podcast. This happened as you were downloading? Do you save the downloads to the card?
If so, try pressing ALT + Right SHIFT + DEL to force a reset and remove the card while resetting.
See if it recovers now.....

Yesterday I drove to the nearest AT&T device service center and exchanged my one month old Bold for a refurbished Bold. If I had gone one day sooner, I would have been within my first 30 days and would have been given a brand new device. But, yesterday was my 31st day of ownership, so I got a refurb. I told the guy I didn't think it was fair that I paid $100 more for a new device one month ago, and now I am stuck with a refurb. He made me feel better by telling me hardly any of the new devices are inspected, and all of the refurbs are inspected. Also, if I had purchased a refurb originally I would only have a 90 day warranty as opposed to the 1 year warranty I have now.

I hope this resolves any issues you had. The refurb issue is an annoying one, but there is truth in the comment that they are inspected.
I have had to get a few refurbs through the years for various products, and I must say that I don't recall ever being really disappointed with the refurbs. They all looked really good or pretty much brand new and they all performed as they were supposed to.
Keep us posted to your experiences....

Except for two very small scratches on the aluminum looking border/trim this refurb looks brand new. Thanks again for your help Stevetaz.
