Talking BlackBerry Bold Skin Case Review

For those interested, here's my review of the BlackBerry Bold Skin Case by RIM. I'm hoping to do a few more case reviews in the coming weeks and see if I can beef up the accessories listed in the customer review section for those wanting to submit reviews.

nice review. I swear by this case for my Bold and for the Storm when I had it. Its affectionately referred to as the "condom". Go figure the one time I didn't have my Bold wrapped up I dropped it and damaged the heck out of the bezel. It doesn't sting too bad anymore since I have the black bezel here to put on it if I ever find time.

Picked this case up at Best Buy tonight. Not bad at all.

nope, it's not bad at all especially for the price. however i find mine collecting dust more often than not. it adds a bit of width to the bold and i've found the bold does not scratch too easy. the cheap bezel does scratch some, but i've modded mine and put an all black bezel on it and it doesn't show any scratches at all.

also I pocket mine alot, and i've found that the skin collects a lot of pocket dust and whatnot and it's kinda a pain to get it cleared up.

still as far as protection for the Bold goes, it's hard to beat the skin. make sure you pick up a screen protector for it. I usually get mine from Clarivue.

Yea the whole point for me getting the skin was because of the bezel. I don't want that scratching. I'll look into the screen protectors. Thanks.

have you seen pictures of the "blacked out Bold" with the black bezel? it's in the Bold forum somewhere. The black bezel does not scratch at all.

No, I haven't. How hard is is to replace the bezel, and where could I get one?

it wasn't hard at all. took me about 10 minutes. one thing you have to be careful of is the little white sticker on the middle right screw, make sure you gently peel it off with a razor blade or something. it is how AT&T knows if the Bold has been disassembled or not. if it's not there i think the warranty is voided.

i got it at cnn.cn there is a video tutorial of how to disassemble the Bold and do it. it's not too hard at all and looks harder than it is.

Very nice review, Chris. I notice the same issue with the sides not gripping the bezel too tight enough. Bothers me at times... I've also noticed my case start to become loose, or at least not as tight as before.

My "black" case is now gray, lol. I think I may take it back. It's too hard to get in and out of my pocket as much as I do. Any other case suggestions?
