is there a place to download mp3s onto my blackberry curve?

Hi again:

Music sites....there are thousands. Where did you get your music before you got the Curve?

If you are asking about free music I really can't help. The small amount of music I have on my device are all from CDs I have that I put on my SD card. I don't actively look to download the latest and greatest.

Are you planning to use the Curve as a primary music player or will you still maintain an iPod or another mP3 player? In any case, loading music over a connection can be tedious and the best method is still to place your microSD card in a reader on your PC and load the music to the card. Then just pop the card into your handheld and you are ready.

You could take a look at BBerryOne, which has a nice selection of mobile-friendly site links in an easy format to use on your Curve. You may find a whole other world to distract you from music. I believe they also have some links to streaming audio sites.

I am at work and our lovely firewall blocks access to mP3 sites so I can't check too deep for you.

Please let us know what you find and maybe if you find some good sites you can add to the free software post I started in the Software Forum page here at EB.....Actually, now that I think about it I should also start a Favorite Sites post......Also be sure to take a look at the Tips and Tricks sticky in the General Discussion Forum. You might find some helpful info there....

I have my ipod for music. But I don't always have it with me. I was wondering if there was some place that when you heard a song n you were out and about you could download it quick onto your phone because its always with me.

As I indicated previously I don't do any music downloading to the BB, but a quick search turned up this link, which may be of help.

There is so much danger and variety in download sites, I am not sure what advice to give. Are you looking for free or pay sites? If you have an iPod, don't they have mobile access on iTunes? I am probably the only one on the planet who doesn't have an iPod so I am ignorant about it.

Perhaps other users who have experience can jump in and share their experiences?

In the meantime I suggest you do a Google search using something like "mobile friendly music download" as a search term and troll through the results to see what you find.

Make sure you pay attention to user comments as many "free" sites have a bunch of fine print and can wind up billing to your phone number for monthly service. They can also be almost impossible to get rid of.

I have an SD card installed that I use to load MP3's on my Pearl, you can access it by using a USB cable directly connected between the BB and a computer, open up "My Computer" and you should see your SD card listed as a separate drive, it will contain a Blackberry folder and inside that folder will be a music folder that you can drag mp3's into. You can also pop the SD card into a reader and connect that to you computer and drop music in that way.
