As I suggested in the other thread, post #6 you should do a battery pull to see if the problem is resolved.
I see you upgraded to the new OS version. Since for most users 4.5 is still beta, what version did you upgrade to, where did you download it from and is it for the type of Curve you are using? In other words, if you are using an 8320, did you download the version for an 8320 and not the 8330? You have to be real careful to make sure you get the right one as they are all device specific.
Did the camera work before you upgraded to OS version?
As a matter of interest, list the model, the carrier/provider and the full version number you installed (ex 4.5.0.52 or 4.5.0.55) as it could be helpful to diagnose your problem.

Hi:
As I asked in the previous post, who is your carrier/provider (such as AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, Vodaphone, Rogers, etc.) and what version of 4.5 did you load? Each provider certifies the OS versions for their own networks. That doesn't mean the 4.5 you loaded won't necessarily work, we just want to make sure you loaded the proper one for the 8300.
Before we recommend removing what you installed, please answer these questions:
1) Provider/Carrier name....
2) Did your camera work before you upgraded the OS?
3) What is the full version of 4.5 you loaded and where did you get it? A random site, from your provider's site, etc?
4) Do you have any third-party software installed?
5) Have you looked to see what is running in the background using memory? Hold the ALT key and press and release the Back button (right of the trackball). You can scroll through the running programs. When you close programs, use the Menu button (right of the trackball) and select CLOSE instead of hitting the red Phone button. Using the red Phone button just puts programs in the background and they continue to run. Note: You cannot close the five main operating programs: Browser, Call Log, Home Screen, Messages and Blackberry Messenger.
Thanks,
SteveTaz

In English, what version is the OS? From the main icon screen > Options > About > Should be about the third item down and begins with a v4.?.?.???
Why were you letting a friend update the OS? Were you having trouble or did he just tell you it would be cool or fun?

Installed what else? Sounds like that PTT program could be a problem. Why did you try to add it? Do you have that service with AT&T? I didn't know they had PTT. If it is continually running we have to stop it. If it doesn't belong on the phone we have to delete it.
Do the battery pull to see if that stops PTT from running.
EDIT: Glancing at the AT&T site, it looks like PTT is available, but for the Pearl. You may have downloaded the wrong software version. You might be having several problems happening and we have to go through them one by one. Also, do you have an 8300 or an 8310? Is it a phone you bought used or new?

Before and after you do the battery pull please take note of the free memory available in the device.
Options > Status > File Free and File Total (Note this is stated in Bytes. As an example, 12,520,000Bytes would be appx 12.5MB.).
Let us know those numbers too. If the free memory gets too low (as much as 10-12MB can be insufficient) the device won't let memory intensive programs run. Also, do you have a microSD card installed to save your pictures to? If not, you may be overloading the device memory.
As you can see there are a few things you need to check and report on so we know where to go next....

Looks like you have the latest 4.5 version for the 8300, but keep in mind that is still beta software and not yet released by AT&T. What you might think about doing is going back to the version from the AT&T site. I have not installed any of the beta versions yet personally. Take a look here and you should be able to download and install. Look for your device and AT&T model.
Have you installed the Desktop manager on your PC? You can see here what to do with the download and you will have to have the Desktop Manager installed on your PC to do this install. I am suggesting you stay with the DM version 4.2 SP2 as it is pretty stable. If you already installed it with your handheld when you bought it and you have version 4.3 or 4.5 on your computer that should work.
Make sure that you have installed the same OS version on your computer that you will be installing to the handheld.
I will not be back online until morning so I will take a look to see how you are making out then.
