New owner with a ton of questions

Hey guys my name is Jeyrod, I got my 8330 on Friday. I use Verizon and this is my first smartphone.
I need help using the Bluetooth, when I look at the help option in the phone it doesn't help me.
Is it possible to set a specific ringtone for a text?
    What are some good sites?
My pin is 31A7A258 I would really appreciate that help

Hi Jeyrod and welcome to EB:

Congrats on your new toy and I hope you have much luck with it.

Regarding your request for help with Bluetooth, could you be a bit more specific? What is it you are trying to do or what would you like to do with Bluetooth?

For the specific ringtone for text:
From the main icon screen > Select Profiles > Scroll down to Advanced and select it > Select the active profile > Scroll down to SMS Text and select it > that will bring you to the place you can select your tone from the list. Not that you can set both the In Holster and Out of Holster to different tones or the same. You also should decide the volume levels you want as well as the number od beeps.

Good sites? There are thousands...What are your interests? What do you consider a good site?

Take a look in the Software Forum where I started a thread listing some free software sites you can start with. Also be sure to take a look in the General Discussion Forum where there is a good thread with BlackBerry Tips and Tricks. These can make your experience a bit easier.

Note that I invite you to add to these as you discover more and more about your wonderful device. Please post sites you find and locations of software you might discover along with your thoughts and opinions about what you find. This will make everyone's visits here better.

Be sure to visit the software section here at EB. There is free software you can browse through.

BTW...If you haven't already done so, I strongly urge you to add a Micro SD card to store your media on. You don't want to store pictures and tunes on the device as you will quickly run out of memory.

Thanks Steve. I want to send like ringtones, and such. I give an example. Last night when we finished closing down at work we were trading ringtones, everybodys phones was working great, I could connect to them, I could pair with them and that was it. I would get paired then click on their phone and the only option retaing to their phone I would get would be delete device, device properties and transfer address book.
On te website I am not sure. I got an iPod touch when it cam out and Apple gave you a list of sites that were usefull, I will check out the area you told me, and I ordered a 8gb card today.

    Hi Again:

To send a ringtone, from the icon menu open Media > Ring Tones > Select All or My Ring Tones > Highlight the ring tone you want to send > press the Menu button (to the left of the trackball) > scroll down to Send Using Bluetooth (or Receive to get)

Websites, there are literally thousands. Any site written for mobile platforms will be nice for your Curve. Take a look at this comprehensive list and let us know if you find things to your liking.

Keep in mind that WAP sites are best for the BB platform, but they are still growing so they are a bit more scarce.

There is also mobile.blackberry.com where you will find links to sites specifically for the BB

I would also think that VZW includes some links on their device. Have you looked at the preset homepage on your device?

Jeyrod, Is the OP you are sending to setting their device to receive via Bluetooth BEFORE you are selecting send? Do you have the same problem as braxtoq that you don't see Send as an option?

braxtoq, so in Media and with a ring tone highlighted, when you press the Menu button you don't see both Send Using Bluetooth as well as Receive Using Bluetooth as options? Is Bluetooth enabled in your Manage Connections? Are you paired with the OP's device?

    To both:

Are you trying to send one of the preloaded BB ring tones, alarm tones, or like AIM tones etc? I don't think the system allows for that. If you are having the problem with ring tones you loaded or created, that may be a different story.....

Try with each and respond. Also, if someone sent you a ring tone you should also be able to send that to someone else too.

Steve. I will check about them receiving but it does not give me the option to send. And the tones are tones I got from myxertones.com. I can send pictures though

    Jeyrod:

Are they in your device memory or on a microSD card?
