Maybe I am delirious, but isn't the Curve an 8330?

I just came over from everythingtreo to find exactly this news. I'm really interested in this phone.
I noticed an asterisk next to "video recording," but I do not see a footnote. What is the exception regarding video recording? |

What, no drumming avatar here? I believe the asterisk is there because while the hardware is capable, the software is not yet ready for prime-time. It is planned for a future update, but no one knows when. Could be in a week or three months.....but it is coming. And welcome to EB aka The Dark Side..... SteveTaz

Actually after reading a bit more, the asterisk might be for this:
* Video recording requires a microSD memory card, sold separately If so, that would mean they have the updated software already and before many others!!! Or they might tell you that it will be available soon. The big question with Verizon is.....what will they be disabling that other carriers don't.  There, I said it!SteveTaz

Hi, Taz!
Sorry for the late reply...never received my email regarding responses. Thanks for the news...I noticed the asterisk on the official news release from VZW. I'm glad that the footnote didn't say something about "video records for only 30 seconds" or some junk like that.  Never thought I'd say this, but I'm really looking forward to switching from Palm to RIM for a while. I hope this Curve 8330 turns out to be as great as it sounds. |

Looks like there are reports of some people successfully receiving their Verizon Curve already. See this thread at another site, but don't forget to come back! Seems to be hit or miss, but it appears some lucky people have it in hand already. Word is stores will see it anywhere from May 15-30 depending on what and where you read. If you are locked into VZW, that might make you happy. I did purchase a Curve 8320 for my daughter from Tmobile and she is tickled. Me too after comparing the prices of the big carriers. 1000 minutes, unlimited email, unlimited text, unlimited Internet....$59.99!! And her coverage at college and home is very good. If not locked in and you get Tmobile coverage you should take a look. The same plan with only 900 minutes at VZW was about $120. I must tell you, I have not been sad over the change to BB. It has been a super device and the stability is to die for. The only down side so far is there are memory leaks, but a simple battery pull once a week resolves that until the new software version is released. AND the new software is supposed to include DocumentsToGo allowing for full editing of Office files. Oh boy!!!!! No firm release date yet, but should be withing a couple of months if not sooner. Well, looks like Verizon stores have been receiving their shipments today, but they are telling anyone asking, they are not permitted to sell until Monday, May 12. SteveTaz
