Default a month later.. .halfway there

Ok, so i finally figured out why I wasn't able to get my mp3s on the bberry. Turns out (d'uh on my part) that since I am using I-tunes, several of them were in the "m4u" or "wm4" format, and not the mp3 format. So after doing some creative changing, and/or using mp3s that weren't bought through itunes, viola! I now have them on my memory card!

Now, my dilema is trying to find a program that can "clip" the mp3 file into a ringtone. Right now I can set the mp3 as my ringtone, but it is playing the entire song, not just a selected part of it.

Has anyone had any luck with any type of program of this nature?

Default Hello all

I wanted to say hello and also ask if there is a way to send a picture by sms on the pearl 8130... Tired of the emailing things, I have a bad hand and the trackball makes it hard

Hi Again davnel:

Take a look at RingJone. Free.

One that you may remember from your Treo days is Audacity. Also free.

There are also many online services that can work. Depends on your wants. Do be careful of those "free" rintone sites you might see. Many are either monthly subscription fees billed to your phone number, which is buried in the fine print and can be almost impossible to cancel. Others are simply shells hiding porn and spammers.

Also, remember to keep the clips to 30 seconds or less for the BB ringtones.

I hope this helps.....

Hi and welcome to EB:

First, note that SMS is Short Messaging Service, text only. What you are asking about is MMS, MulitiMedia Service. We need to know who your carrier is. I believe that Sprint does not allow sending pics with MMS, but for some reason you can receive them. In that case you will have to send as an attachment to an email.

Verizon on the other hand, does allow pics to be sent via MMS, but until recently, only on the Pearl. That may have changed now that they have the Curve.

Also note that this is assuming you have a data plan with your carrier. You might need to call your carrier to see if they support MMS and if your plan allows for them.

So, who is your carrier and do you have a data plan?

Default Hi Steve

Thanks so much for the quick response. I have sprint and have the simply everything blackberry plan. But it makes sense; just very hard to send pictures. Is there a way to make the tracball less sensitive

Sure:
From the main icon menu > options > screen/keyboard > scroll down to trackball and you can adjust horizontal and vertical sensitivity.

I hope this helps and ask some more questions and visit often. Make sure you check the Tips and Tricks sticky I started in the General forum. Very helpful if you are new and I hope to find time to keep expanding the list.
