I know you cant install applications directly to the memory card. But is there a way to install a program from the memory card?

Hi and welcome to EB:

You can install FROM the media card but it cannot be a destination for the program. All programs are installed in device memory.

-Download a .zip file for a program to your PC
-Extract the files from the downloaded zip (you must have the jad/jar and probably the cod/alx files)
-Copy all the files to a single directory on your Media Card. You can do this by having the BB connected to your PC and using Windows Explorer to access the card like a removable drive
-On your handheld go to Media > BB Menu key > Explore > Media Card > Navigate to the directory where you copied the files > Select the jad > Download > Follow the prompts to complete the installation
NOTE: You aren’t really downloading, you are installing from the card.

This will not work with all applications.

There is also a program, Aerize Card Loader that supposedly enhances your ability to do this. I have no personal experience, but I believe they have a seven day trial.

Give it a shot and let us know if it works as billed...

thanks steve... that's kind of a bummer (if one wants to install a lot of apps) so my follow-up question is: if i download/install directly OTA from a web site.. is the actual install somewhere on the device, if so can i move/delete it to free up some space ?

That is the down side of installing OTA instead of through the BB DM and App Loader. There is no backup available. Installing through the DM gives you the ability to remove and reinstall at a later time if you choose.

Please explain what this question means...Is Partypoker a game made for BlackBerrys?

Note that aftermarket software for the Storm is still pretty scarce, but will be growing. Does that software state it is designed to work with the Storm (OS 4.7)?

If you aren't sure, post a link or the address to Partypoker and I will take a look when I can. Do not post Warez or pirated software links....

Thanks,
SteveTaz
