    Pearl 8100 and facebook 1.5 & 1.6 always freezing

    I have a Blackberry Pearl 8100 on T-Mobile UK, with the latest 4.5 OS on it. Over the last two months ive tried to download the new Facebook application (version 1.5 and 1.6) and each time I do my phone just freezes like mad (hour glass thing always coming up) Now ive realised that IT IS the facebook application that is messing my stuff up as every other application I have works fine, but each time I go into Facebook via my blackberry and try to update my status or send a message is just freezes for like HOURS…and I have to do a reset (take battery out). I know people who have a pearl 8110 and they don’t have those problems. Some1 suggested to try and get a bigger memory card…so I now have a 2gb memory for my phone…but still it freezes

    I wouldn't think that a bigger memory card would help. It sounds like something is wrong with the software on the Pearl. Maybe there is something that facebook doesn't like about the 8100, but doesn't have a problem with the 8110. I am not real sure, because I have never played with a Pearl. I may consider firing off an email to either facebook or BlackBerry.

    Hi doctae and welcome to EB:

    I think dgray is on target. A bigger card is not going to make a difference as the app is installed to device memory.

    Where did you download the app from? I suggest you uninstall, do a hard reset (battery pull) and try downloading a fresh copy of the program to reinstall. You may have a corruption in the download you have.

    If you downloaded to your PC and installed from there delete from the PC too.
