rb, I don't believe it is that simple. The jad file includes a url that has to point to a corresponding jar file. These are run by MIDlets, which is way beyond me.

I think it is safe to say that when you take a jad file from somewhere, there is much more that goes along and is working behind the scenes...

that would explain why it does not work if you simply d/l and copy the file... i will try and locate the original link and see what that does.

    thanks.

RB, I think it could be with the way your server works as well. I remember trying to view videos from your site via my Q and getting only the code. I'm going to try and put a JAD file on my googlepages to see if that will work. I'll post back later with the results.

Must agree with the screen shot program. I also use capture it, and it works great. I tried putting a JAD file on my server, and it appered to try and go thorugh the install (the program wasn't one I wanted, just one that had a JAD download). I would say that adding the MIME would be a good idea

Actually, "Capture It" shows up a menu option on every menu, so unless you need to grab a SS where the menu button won't work, there is no need to put it on a convenience button.

good point, reason i used the convenience key was to make a screen shot of the "home screen" (<- is that what it's called also on a BB ?) when you use the menu to make a screen shot all buttons are shown, and not the image used.. so for those instances, i will use the key and turn it off otherwise..

    thx.

That is a good point. I guess I never thought about needed a pic of the homescreen (also not sure if that is what it is referred to in the BB community). I generally want pictures from inside applications for the purpose of reviews and tutorials.
