media manager error DAO.msi
I just finished dealing with this issue and here is what cause it and how I fixed it:
PC System OS: XP
Blackberry Storm: lastest os
media manger: 5.0
The issue started after I tried to launch media manager. It would start then loop error 1706 - no valid source code could be found for Roxio Media Manager and ask for the correct path for DAO.msi This may have something to do with the ATI vid card on the pc as many have post this issue and have that vid card in common. So there is the cause (for me anyways)
Now the fix:
1- Unregister it by typing this at the command line-
regsvr32 /u "c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\dao\dao360.dll"
then.
2- Register it:
regsvr32 "c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\dao\dao360.dll"
Go to START/RUN then copy and paste the Unregister command in the run box. PRess OK
Do the same with the second command to register.
I did a seach of the forum before posting this and didn't find anything so if this is a repost or old news I am sorry I did look first though.
