Newbie questions
Hi guys,
I'm new to the forum, doing some research pending my BB Bold that is coming by mail somewhere in the coming week (if the mailman can find my door
). I have 2 main questions regarding software:
- Which navigation software that gives me 'on the go' feedback is best? I've heard amAze and nav4all are both good. Which is considered best and why (I've found a couple of reviews, but nothing conclusive)?
- Which browser is considered best? In the sticky i saw that opera mini is found to be good. What is the added value to bb's browser? Which other (high-quality) options do I have?
Thanx in advance!

Belated welcome to EB!!!
The "best" navigation software is the one that works for you. They are both free and you should try both to see which fits your particular needs.
You should also try both Opera and Bolt if you are interested in alternative browsers. Myself, I stick with the BB Browser as it meets my needs.
Enjoy your BB when it comes and please be sure to vist and post often. Thanks for registering.....

Hi everyone,
My Bold came in today. I've been playing with it for a few hours and i absolutely love it!
I've sorted out what to do with browser and navigation, so thats sorted. However, I encountered a new problem: there is one specific e-mail account that is refused by my Bold. I've tried addin that account manually via mobileemail.vodafone.net (which should be the dedicated site for my carrier). However, I get the message that i can't log in.
What should i do now? Weekend just started so i won't be able to get in touch with my provider (it's my student account).
Any and all imput is appreciated!

That is a dedicated email site. It is actually your carrier's BIS site. Was this account actually set up already and you are trying to reaccess? Could the password be incorrect? You can enter the user name or the device PIN you set up and select Forgot Password and it will be sent to the device.
Is it possible you did not set up the account yet? Then select Create a New Account.
I suggest you go to that address using a PC instead of the BB to do the setup or to gain access....
Try it and let us know....

Hi Taz, Thanks for the quick reply!

I've tried loggin in via my computer, however I keep getting error messages and cannot create an account. I've checked the PIN and IMEI numbers 3 times, I'm quite sure they are correct. What to do now?
Thanks
Edit: it says that I cannot acces the internet services via HTM browser and that i should try it via my mobile device. After trying to log in on my Bold I get the message that I cannot log in via HTML browsers... I'm confused!!
Edit2: thanks to the friendly people @ customer service I've got the adress installed via the web-application. However, I can't send/receive any messages (apart from the confirmation e-mail)... Thoughts on that?

Check with your carrier to make sure your account is properly set up for a BlackBerry Data Plan, not just a standard data plan.
The may have to reprovision. If you do not have a BB Data Plan you will be unable to send and receive email.
Are you able to surf the web using the BB Browser?

Taz,
I've got the data plan set-up properly: internet works and i've got 2 other e-mail adresses set up and working (hotmail and another).
I've bypassed it for now by setting up a blackberry account and forwarding my college adress to that one.
Thanx for the help guys!
