    Opera Mini

We have Opera Mini on the MotoQ's + a hack to get rid of the "splash screen" that said something about Opera Mini Application is about to make a connection to the internet---blah blah" but with a hack it was gone.
Do you still get the stupid splash screen on the BB's?
If you do is there a "can't stand that stupid splash screen" hack to remove it?

Curiousity is going to kill me, Geek. You don't like the BB browser? What is the difference between Opera (on the BB) and the actual BB browser?

They are basically the same but sometimes where one can't get on a web site the other one can. I read (I haven't verified it or found any disclaimers either) that BB does restrict some sites. AGAIN, I don't know if that's true.
But on Q there is SkyFire & PIE, right? Take the best of both worlds....

I thought it died earlier, which is why you are here!

On topic...I have 4 browsers on the Q (PIE/Teashark/Opera Mini/ & Skyfire.) Use PIE 99 % of the time. Only use Skyfire for flash video...

Let me know if BB really blocks sites...

Husbands died & mine was randomly shutting off. Well....it shut off one too many times I guess & it died yesterday. I loved that phone.....
I wouldn't know if it blocks things or not. It's just what I read & besides sometimes things happen in "translation" (not you rb-internet) & what one browser can't get another one will.
I had the same 4 browsers on my Q too.
And to answer my own question, no it does not bug you about OperaMini accessing the internet.
Now have to find a decent PIM/calendar program & I am all set, in like Flynn, hot to trot, ready to rock & roll, swing in the trees w/ the rest of the monkeys.....
And DTG would be nice too.... but not for $70.00!!!!!

in the BB browser you can change the "identification" or better browser agent it sends, choices are BlackBerry, Internet Explorer or Firefox, have you messed with that... so far i have not been to a site i couldn't view.

I don't recall what phones you got, but I think they were on NexTel (CrapTel?) so I will guess Curves? If so, what OS are you running? If 4.5, you should have DocsToGo as a part of the OS. It is the basic version, but works.

When you say you have to get a PIM program, do you mean for your PC? Outlook really does work very, very well with BBs (assuming you are on a PC platform).

Of course it is possible, especially if it is the carrier's "official" release. However, what I think is more likely is that DTG was not set up to install under the default installation. I am not aware of any carrier that eliminated the program entirely, not even Verizon! Many did not install with the device set-up.

Geekster should be sure to install the BB DM on the PC and also be sure to install the OS installed on the handhelds to the PC. Note that the OS must match exactly and should be available from the providers website. Start up BB DM > Connect the handheld via USB cable > Open Application Loader and check to see if DTG is an available install, but not selected to be installed. Select it, install it and that should do it.

If so, don't forget to use the upgrade link as a free upgrade to install SheetsToGo should be available too.
