I went by two stores at lunch here in the Dallas area and they said they had like a couple people waiting at both stores but nothing like the first Storm release. Probably the negative public perception of the first one had something to do with it. Then again, I walked in and out in 10 minutes when I got the first one on launch day.

Got some hands on time with it while in the store. Much better than the original as far as the build quality and sure press, however if I had the first one running 5.0 I don't know that I'd go out and pay full retail for the Storm 2 since most Storm 1 owners aren't eligible for upgrade.

nope. I got the first one, unlocked it and paid the ETF/terminated my contract with Verizon. I'm with AT&T and have the iPhone and Bold now, and I still have an unlocked Storm somewhere lol I checked it out just because I have a phone addiction but don't really have any intent on buying the Storm 2.
