New update from VZW

If you haven't update your blackberry, I say go for it. Definitely new GUI, more responsive, better texting, and damn sexy. I feel empowered to start up my own business with this newer, more efficient upgrade. Before I start hearing compliants about memory leaks. I am down to 20mb. But, the phone is still fast, all apps are still running at peak condition, and the phone hasn't frozen up or had a random reset. So....I think we could agree that the phone can still run effectively even with low memory. The ONLY application I am having issues with is the Quickpull app.

Oh! Sorry, this thread is regarding the new OS update for the original storm. Storm 2 has not been released yet.

Everything is more responsive with 5.0, at least those that I've tried. Lost previous email but that's no biggy, it's still on the off phone accounts. But switching apps, launching apps, etc much faster and some new eye candy as well. Don't have to rush out for the S2 just yet (not that I'm in a hurry anyway). I second the "go fo it" suggestion.

after almost a week with the update, I am really loving this new update. If anything, I am really pissed that VZW released the Storm 2 at the same time of this OS update. think about it, with the S2 released, the only memory the general public will have of the original storm was that it was buggy, had software issues, hard to text, wasn't "iPhone" competitive, and blah, blah, blah.

I too like the OS update. I've got some problems (I'll start new threads on those) but it's much quicker and more stable. The WOW factor is obvious.
