Thanks. This one looks very promising. Hopefully this is the CHOSEN ONE that VZW will officially release.
One reviewer said it's like having a brand new phone!

I would say we are almost to where an official release will be. In their 20 page (at the time I read it) thread about discoveries, it still sounds like some people are having some major issues. I did hear that RIM intended to roll out an offical one within the first 2 weeks of Feb, so perhaps this will be the last beta leak before the official one gets tossed out there.

I might actually give this one a try, I have to start someplace with these leaked OS's, and this one sounds most promising from the others I've read about.

If you do update, let us know what you think and what you notice.

Well I updated of course...so far what have I noticed...1st i'll say...install went smooth, no issues and all 3rd party apps were reinstalled and work successfully.

1) Keyboard is back to normal letter size.
2) When uninstalling a program i don't get that media card issue and verizon screen like i was getting in .90. That finally seems fixed! Hooray!
3) Overall speed...seems a little slower than in past versions...i'm seeing the waiting timer a little more than normal. Maybe a battery pull will fix that, I haven't done that since I installed the OS.
4) Changing from portrait to landscape seems smoother and quicker, but going from landscape to portrait seems laggy.
5) Camera works perfectly now. Its quick and actually saves the pictures again!
6) Media player is working again and not crashing the phone after 30 seconds of playing music. Also the volume controls actually control the volume again (it was changing songs in .90).
7) Flipping through pictures is as quick as ever, and loads pretty quick as well.
8) Video controls are a lot more responsive.
9) Slingmedia, Viigo, Weatherbug, google maps and Bolt all still work on .99!
10) The enter key while in the browser is now a "go" button.
11) Browser seems a little slower than in the past. Taking longer to load pages.

Anything else I see i'll report. Overall..its better than .90!

After a the battery pull:

1) Reboot took about 2.5 minutes again no media card problem. Quicker than .90 for me.
2) Memory at 45.9...about the same after a BP on .90.
3) When switching between programs from the home screen it kinda fades into the new application. Pretty cool
4) Speed seems to have improved after the BP...haven't seen the waiting timer thing yet.
5) Browser is still slow loading pages!

Wow. Great write-up of everything you noticed.

One thing I found odd is that you said "Browser is still slow loading pages!" ... A lot of people on CB said that their browser speed improved...

I'm not sure whether or not you all mean speed of the internet itself, or things like rendering...

The actual loading of pages seems a lot slower to me. And i'm loading a wap page so there's really nothing to it, it should load quick but its taking at least a minute to load. Compared to bolt, bolt load the full page of the same website in less than 10 seconds!

Maybe i'm in a bad area, i dunno, i do have full service and 3g right now...

I toggled my mobile connection and tried the browser again...maybe its a little faster than what i'm making it out to seem but i'm used to using bolt now, so to me the BB browser is slow...its not horrible.

After the BP i noticed that weatherbug is not working. It loads but it won't connect and get the weather. I uninstalled and re-installed, and same issue...i'm thinking weatherbug is having a problem because it did work after the OS install before the BP.
