Reading the blackberrynews article, no sense in going with official release. If they end up using the beta, why go with the official? Besides, if .113 is official, why would anyone then running .114 downgrade?
Think I'm sarcastic? Watch me pretend to care.

yea i don't know.... the main thing i see with .114 "Hybrid" is memory leakage. it'll be interesting how this pans out.... and the nice added bonus for me if they do release .113 is it will shut up all the know-it-all's who say they never release a lower number then the latest beta :}

I guess we will have to see. But, is it only the Hybrid leaking, or is the standard beta .114 leaking also? If so, wouldn't .113 also have some leaks in it?

According to the comments in the Blackberry News link, the leak is still there. One user going from 45mb to 15mb in 5 hrs. Another is stating the .103 and others are much better. Personally, I hope there are some positive reviews with the official release when it come out. If it is better than my .114v3, then maybe i'll bite. But it is through my experiences that betas and un-official releases are usually better than the versions that carriers agree to run with. Look at the darn Dell x51v. For years, dell discontinued their PDA production and never provided updates (stating that WM5 will suffice). Some guy comes across a WM6 os and makes a much better version (WM6.1). Now, I can hold on to my PDA for another 3 yrs or so. Yes, I still use a pda.

Better question. What do I use a PDA for? Since I am nursing student, I use the PDA to type up my careplans in the free Word prgm that comes with every WM os, use it to access my drug book, Merck Manual, and RN diagnosis reference. I can still use my Stowaway bluetooth keyboard. Even though these apps are available on blackberry, they strictly forbid us to use a cell phone in the ICU no matter if I tell them that I shut off the radio in the phone. They never question a PDA. Besides, the PDA has a longer battery life and a larger screen making it suitable for researching and typing up careplans while still in th unit. Once done, I just go home and edit it on the desktop and i'll be down before my classmates even begin on theirs.
Back to your original question. I use the BB for everything a PDA can't do. Multiple emails (work, school, business, personal), GPS, Where app, music/video, calendar to keep me on track with school, phone sex, and more.

All very valid points...Interesting they won't permit smart phones like BBs even if the radio is turned off. Even the airlines learned this works.
Phone sex????
