Swipe – either how fast your finger has to swipe for it to be recognized or how fast it recognizes your swipe.
Tap – This is how much time you have between taps to have a double tap be registered.
For a more detailed example….In the browser, double click to zoom. If you have the Tap Interval set at 100, it means you have to tap twice within a very short period of time (maybe short for a ms setting?), but a setting of 500 is much more forgiving. The higher the number the slower the reaction apparently.
Hover - This is how long it takes for you to activate hover "special events".
For more detailed examples, when switching into the Cursor Mode; To reposition your cursor when editing text. Another example is the Quick Filter in your Messages List. If you hover over a Sender or a Subject it will filter your messages to show only messages from that Sender. With a Hover Period of 700 or more this can be quite slow.

Great Job
In honor of SteveTaz's great thread containing Tips/Tricks for the BlackBerry, I thought I would start one up for some Storm specific stuff. With the new OS, comes a new way of doing things. Those of us who are new to RIM devices (me), and those of you who have been using them forever, all have a few things to learn with this Berry. I've collected these from various forums, videos, blog posts, hours of playing around, and probably other sources too. I'm not giving anyone credit, because that would require me to go back and find out exactly where I heard it. I'll just let you know that 99% of these were not discovered by me, just compiled by me. Alright, enough blabbering!
Search for all e-mail/texts from one sender
Go into your inbox and highlight a message from the desired sender, don't press down, but just leave your finger there for a few seconds and all the messages will show up. Great way to eliminate all those texts from your pesky ex at once!
Select multiple messages
Again, go into your inbox, touch the top message that you want selected, then touch a message below that, all the messages in between should be highlighted. You can scroll down and the messages will continue to highlight by the lowest one you touch. Once you have all the desired messages selected, you can delete them, or move them or do whatever with them. Big time saver for clearing out that busy SMS box.
Edit something you are typing
While in the edit box, touch the sentence that you want to edit, when the blue box turns into a little rectangle, slide to the position where you want to make the edit. I haven't quite mastered this yet, so be ready for the barrage of typos in my posts coming from the Storm...And I'm a horrible speller!
More easily browse your inbox
While you are viewing your messages, if you swipe your finger from right to left, it will take you to a newer message. And you guessed it! Go from left to right, and you can see an older message.
Zooming on the camera
Ready for your close up? When you are in the camera, slide your finger from bottom to top to zoom in, and from top to bottom to zoom out.
Num/Caps Lock
To put the keyboard in either NumLock or CapsLock mode simply hold down the "!?123" or "aA" respectively for a second or so. Helps with those passwords that have several numbers grouped together.
That all for now, feel free to add your own. Give us some time and we will all have this niftly little thing figured out

yes, welcome carameloty..
I'm new to this forum. just signed up today and i cannot wait to get my hands on my new storm. as the designated "phone guy" for my company, i handle the cell phone account. i have been a registered moto q forum member for some time now, and have picked up a great deal of info.
i am switching from the q to a storm and will be checking the q forums frequently, as we still have a few employees using q's.
i am looking forward to mastering the storm as i did the q with everyones help.
just wanted to say thanks.
Hi 65heloguy and welcome to EB:
There are quite a few ex and current Q users here so you should fit in nicely.
Visit and post often...
If I am bored later I might just move this to the Introductions forum, just to keep this one clear for tips and tricks.....

Thanks for all the tips. I'm glad I found out how to delete multiple texts.
I just got the blackberry 4-5 days ago. My first blackberry ever, seems to be alright so far. A little laggy at times and a few adjustments need to be made, but it should mostly be fixed in the new os update(I hope).. and if it comes lol.
