    Updated Storm 1 to v5.0.0.328

So far so good. Quickpull worked without needing to re-install, Documents-to-Go was included update, and it still has that Blackberry smell.

I'll post more if any cool stuff or problems arise.

One thing I can say is that typing with full keyboard in portrait mode has really improved as well as picture taking. I can take pictures much faster and the images are in better quality.

I don't care how great the update is. Until somebody stops this thing from leaking memory faster than the levees in N.O., it don't cut the mustard.

I don't know, I cut my share of condiments in my days and I think this update is not all that bad. It has been staying around 20mb range. Even if it was having a bad leak there are users on Crackberry forums saying that their phone still runs top notch even if reaching as far down as 4mb. So if its running great regardless of the level of memory, what's the harm?

I don't know about others, but when my Storm gets down to ~10mb, things get flaky fast. I have screen aberrations, tilt slows down (or stops completely) and general mayhem and chaos abounds.

Sorry, but I moved from the 8330 to the Storm. The 8330 was rock solid for a year. This is the first time I've ever purchased a phone for looks. Some of the Storm I love, but some of it drives me nuts; especially the leaky memory.

I know, I know... I'm just a crybaby. I need to just walk it off

No, you're not a crybaby. That seems to be legitimate issues with your phone. I am assuming that you have already taken it to the Verizon store? I mean, those are some issues that even I would demand the phone be replaced.

Verizon seems to think my problems are inherent to the Storm. True, the memory leak is something we're going to have to live with. But here's a sampling of my issues...

Voice Dialing - might as well not even have it. Before .328, it worked very well. Since then, it's useless.

Tilt - I kid you not, at times I can rotate the phone and the tilt won't even happen. It will sit that way until I give the phone a little shake.

Sometimes it sync's and sometimes it doesn't - When I plug into my PC, sometimes it sync's and sometimes the DM doesn't even recognize the phone's been plugged in. Windows Explorer recognizes the phone and displays both memory's. Typically I have to go through 2 or 3 iterations to get the thing to sync.

Makes lousy sweet tea (I just lied about that one).

My fear in getting a new phone is that I won't get a new phone. Instead I'll get a refurb. For the most part, I'm happy with the phone and I'm very pleased with .328. I just wish I could get these last few things figured out.
