Voice Dialing Problem

Ever since the VZW update, this new voice dialing is useless (at least for me). I just cannot get it to work, even after stepping through the adaptation process.

It requires last name first; which doesn't matter since it doesn't recognize the name anyway. It recognizes phone #'s, but that defeats the purpose of voice dialing.

Anyone else having problems?

I don't think you are alone and the suggestion I would make is to reload your OS. That will delete any third-party applications, so if you have any be sure to have registration codes available if they require it.

I am assuming you have already done the obligatory Battery Pull. If not, try that first.

If you do have to go the OS reload route I would also suggest you hold off on reinstalling any third-party apps and try the Storm to see if your voice dialing is functioning after the reload. If it is working then add the apps one at a time to see if the VD "breaks" again. Then you may find there is a software conflict with an app and you will know what to avoid.

REMEMBER, the OS reload will wipe out thrid-party apps AND ALL OF YOUR DATA. MAKE SURE YOU DO A FULL BACKUP OF ALL DATA BEFORE PROCEEDING.

Same thing happened to me. New voice dial app gets only about 50% of commands wrong vs. old one that was about 90% accurate. This despite my going through the voice calibration exercise. VZW claims they know of no reports of problems on this, but this is their usual claim.

Well things are much improved since reloading .328. Voice dialing is about where it was previously.

If it worked in my case, can't hurt to try it on your phone.

Thanks. Sort of a pain to repeat the software update I just did 2 days ago, but guess it's necessary.

If it works? Still a pain, but at least it works.....
