jfa, welcome back! I was wondering where you had wandered off to.
Did you jump into the Pre pool or are you still looking? Not sure if it really matters, but I don't think the 9700 (Onyx) is the same as the 9630 (Tour). I believe the 9700 is going to be released with a TrackPad and apparently there are a number of other differences. Frankly, I am beginning to become a bit insulated to the recent releases as they are all beginning to look alike to me. I find that I have to input the model numbers and names to look them up so I can recall what the features might be and what is different. Perhaps it is just me (actually I am pretty sure it IS me), but I can't tell the difference anymore....

Well I knew it was a different model number some places it was being called a tour model and others the bold II. Anyweay. I have been around havent done much posting. I have been at National Order of the Arrow Conference in Bloomington IN. still thinking about a BB even though I went with a treo pro over the bold. Bought it on ebay and not an ATT device so still have an unpgrade option available.
