New User - First question re front panel LED

New BB user here, posting my first question - please go easy on the newbie. What does the flashing red LED on the front panel of the Tour indicate? And, how can I turn it off?

Dan, the flashing red means you have a new message: From the main icon menu select Profiles > Scroll down and select Advanced > Normal will probably be labeled (Active)....Highlight and select with the trackball > You will then see a list of all different types of messages as well as various other functions that use notifications.

Highlight and select one of them and you will see all the customizing you can do and note that there are Out Of Holster as well as In Holster settings. Look for the Repeat Notification item and change to None from LED Flashing for no flashie thingie....

Do that for each mail account you have and you should be good. Also applies to missed calls and others...

BTW....Blue flashing means you are connected to a BlueTooth device, Green has to do with network/provider coverage and Amber means you are about out of juice and better charge real soon.

That should be enough on LEDs for a bit.....

Thank you again Steve. Got it! I would never have figured that out. It is not in the quick start manual, nor could I find it anywhere in the help included with the software.
