Default Tour Version 5.0.0.230

Loaded Version 5 found in the wild today, already noticed some changes with the clock and alarm settings, battery pull reboot is about 3 minutes (compared to 7-8 before). Application list in user tools lists each app's logo and you can list by third party, core or add-on, so far so good, no crashes, I'll update after a full day of usage.

Hi braxtoq:

Do you use Facebook? I hear a new version is required for 5.0. I also hear that BB Messenger doesn't work yet on 5.0.

Threaded SMS is supposed to be included. Have you seen that?

I am also reading there are a number of apps such as QuickPull and AOL don't work due to the new OS. I was wondering if third-party apps bought previously are going to be an issue.

You saw a HUGE improvement in the reboot time. That has to be pretty nice....

Good luck......

SteveO, I am using FaceBook and it's working fine, also AP News, Pocketday Trial, Opera, VZ Navigator, Application Center will not update I get a error that says I have Insufficient Coverage, I think I need to download an earlier version for that to work properly. At this stage I think I have all I need, I will most likley keep this version, I have not used SMS yet, but, I read somewhere that BBM 4.7 works and has threaded messaging, BBM 5.0 does not, thats all for now!

Default Update on V5.0

Still good! Visual VoiceMail seems to be working better, although I have adapted my usage to allow voice messages plenty of time to load before checking, which may explain better stability. SteveO, I have used threaded SMS now and it's pretty useful, and clean.

Could the VM issue and waiting for loading be related to your connection speed? I have never used it to have a reference.

Threaded SMS is really nice and one of those features that once you have it you wonder why it wasn't included years ago.

Thanks for the continuing observations and it is sounding pretty good for you....

I don't know if it will work with Missing Sync, I don't use a Mac to sync since I'm on a BES. Most of the apps I had before are working just fine, the only one I have found that does not is BBM 5.0. The only issues I have had with the 5.0 version that I have not experienced before is twice the screen has displayed a split with the left side on the right and the right side on the left! I just hit the BB Menu button and it clears when I come back to the home screen, weird

SteveO, I'm sorry, I did not address your question regarding VVM and the connection speed, I don't think it has anything to do with connection speed. I received a tip from a Verizon help desk guy who told me he always waits a few minutes after receiving a message before he plays it back and he rarely has a lock up issue, that's still working pretty well for me, also it may be training me to be more patient!

Runs outside to watch the pigs fly around....

Good to hear things are pretty stable for you...
