I'm not surprised that this is going to T-Mobile, but apparently everyone expects it to be a low end pay as you go phone. If that's the case, I wouldve expected it to go to a few carriers at once like Boost Mobile, etc.

I think Boost is IDEN technology is it not? I think it's offered thru Sprint operating on the Nextel network, I wouldn't rule it out if they develop an IDEN version but BlackBerry has been slow to develop IDEN phones recently, Nextel just got the Curve not too long ago.

It seems T-Mobile is the first Network to receive all of the Curve's, Pearl's etc., while AT&T was the first with the Bold. I'm wondering if this has to do with AT&T's stated desire to move away from 2G devices. Hopefully RIM is working on 3G devices for AT&T-I know if the 8900 was 3G I'd be all over it!

Could Revol and Cricket be canidates then? These are services that are lacking in smartphones, and this could be a way to jump into the market.

I suppose it's possible, but to be honest, I've never even heard of those carriers. For a carrier lacking in smartphones, I do think it would be a good way to get into the market. I just looked at the Revol site and I agree, they are DEFINITELY lacking in the SP department.

I would think MetroPCS would be a good candidate if they throw out a CDMA version of it.
