I don't think BGR is correct on this one, as do other members at another site. ;-)

I thought Rogers was Canadian. BTW, a point I brought up in another thread, TS without TB. I just think a TB with TS is a little too redundant.

I don't know. I thought and heard they were like Canada's AT&T network. Not that they are connected or anything but yeah... Ill explain later when I'm not mobile.

Can't blame em.. but still. WiFi isn't available everywhere so there's always places where someone will want to use the internet and only have access to VZW's network.

This whole thing about VZW not having WIFI, on my plan, the BB data plan I have is unlimited though the handheld. I am only limited when I tether to 5GB. So for them to have WIFI, doesn't make sense to me. Unless you are suggesting they have capped data plans so WIFI would be useful. BTW, even if they did have WIFI capable devices, wouldn't make sense for me. Only places I could use WIFI would be truckstops, and they charge subscriptions to use.

Read the fine print. 5gb is about the max before VZW begins to notify you of excessive usage. 5gb is certainly a whole bunch, but if you start streaming video or music you might be surprised how fast it can go. Most people would never even come close to that max, but the 5gb max also used to be 10gb a few years ago. VZW quietly lowered it, as did Sprint.

As video and music needs grow so will the need for more and more bandwidth.

There are many people who cannot or do not sign up for unlimited plans and the WiFi is a way for them to supplement their plans.

I had experience with my daughter's Curve on TMo when the nearby tower crashed and she had no network access for five or six days at home. Because she has WiFi in her Curve and I have a wireless network in the house she was happily able to text, surf and make and receive phone calls for the whole time. If that happened to me on Sprint with my 8830, I would have been screwed.

WiFi also tends to be somewhat faster that EDGE for downloading larger music and video files so there really is a good case to be made for it. While I know that VZW and their fanbois all claim "The Network" is the best and is always present, that is not always true for everyone....

YMMV...
