way back when i ran a quite successful BBS, and frequently users felt i was rude to them -which in my mind was just being upfront & no BS :} anyway.. they started calling me rudeboy + perhaps the best crossover band out of Europe's frontman called himself 'Rudeboy Remington'.. so there you have it, it just stuck.

When I asked this question on EQ many moons ago, RB linked me to a WIKI page that explained that followers of SKA music are called "rudeboys"....spent the next couple of hours searching and listening to SKA music.....

true that was also a reason.... i do like among many many other styles ska music, and if you listen to ska music for a few hours does not automagicly mean you don't have a life does it ?

I know this works on the Bold, I don't know what other Berry's but I'm sure most of them can do this.

To view your phone info which contains your phone number, the duration of your last call, and the duration of all your calls, press Send to go into the Phone app, then press any number or letter, then press ALT + V and it should bring you into that.

Does My BB Have An IT Policy...

If you are not sure if your BB has an IT Policy installed, there are two things you can look at. This can be very helpful to those who have purchased a used device from places like eBay, Craig'sList or even from your company when you depart.

An IT Policy can restrict a number of things such as Internet sites that can be visited, Applications that can be installed and even device settings that can be changed.

First, from the Icon screen, Options > Security Options > General Settings
Scroll down to the bottom, just below Message Background Colors and above the Services title (this is true on my 8830 running 4.2), do you see any entry such as IT Policy Name: _____? The IT Policy Name "Default" is a popular one used by many Admins and it does mean you have an IT Policy installed.

Note that if you see a Policy named "Blank" you could have a BB that used to have an IT Policy installed, but it was removed using a certain procedure and should actually work as if there is no Policy installed. Sometimes this can get screwed up though.

    Another way to check is:
    Go to Options > Status and type in B U Y R

At the bottom of the screen, following the ESN information do you see anything like Data Usage and Voice Usage on the left with IT Policy Enabled on the right?

If your device has an IT Policy installed and you work for a company using a BES system that owns the device or if it is your own device installed on a company BES server, you are now restricted to following whatever policies the BES Administrator has implemented.

Understand that attempts to bypass the IT Policy or remove it from a company-controlled BB can be grounds for termination. Before messing with it you better speak with the Admin to see what you are and are not permitted to do. Some companies have very liberal Policies and others are extremely restrictive.

Another note about BES connected devices, the Admin can "see" everything you do and use the device for. That is to say the information is available to the Admin. It is a matter of what they actually log and look at. Keep in mind that logs can be stored for long periods and if someone decides to start investigating for any reason they could, in theory, see everything you have ever used the BB for. Every site you have ever visited, every resume you have ever sent out, etc. You get the point. If you don't want anyone to know, get your own BB and keep it off of the BES server.
