    Sync to itunes?

I'm looking for a simple way to sync my music in itunes to my BB Curve. I've seen a shareware app called Shadowtunes that says it will do this. Anybody tried this, or other apps that can sync itunes to BB?

    Hi:

I guess my question is why do you want to sync it? Is it just to get the music in the Curve so you can play it? If so, I found it pretty easy and quick to just copy and paste all the folders from my PC to the microSD card in a reader on the PC. Popped the microSD in the BB opened the Media application and they played. This is assuming you have your music stored on your PC.

The 1g microSD I bought came with an SD adapter so it would work in the reader. If you don't have a reader I suggest it as it has to be faster for the PC to transfer to a card than the PC to the BB thru a USB connection, at least I think it is. My experience for the previous three years was a Treo and you would not want to transfer to the device if you didn't have to. A reader was the way to go.

I don't know what the benefit would be to having iTunes conduct the transfer through a third-party app.

Can you clarify what you are looking to do other than get the music onto the BB? Since I am new to an 8830 and the BB world, I have a whole lot to learn.

One thing I don't like about the BB vs Treo, I can't install any programs to the card as they must be installed to the device. Goes for most data too, but I have been reading some stuff that seems to indicate there are third-party progarms that can store data to the card. I also read about an O/S update in the future that may change to allow certain programs to install to the card. So much to read....So little time.

    But it's all good.....

    Steve,

My music collection is massive. I want to be able to load music into the BB by playlists, not copying/pasting several hundred files. I actually am using the Shadowtunes app now, and it seems to do what it says...unreg. version is slower, but works so far.

I am a recently converted Treo user too, and I HATED that piece of junk.

I guess that just shows I am not as heavy into the music aspect, sorry. As I said, I need a bunch of education, so thanks for sharing.

I have mixed feelings about the old Treo. It took 6-8 months to get it stable and I really did not have trouble for the next two years; until the end of February. The device started random acts of spite like deleting random emails after opening VersaMail....40-50-60 and I couldn't stop ot except pull the battery. Resets, lock-ups, yada, yada. Never really a truly stable device and I always viewed it as a great idea.......If they ever got it to work properly or "as advertised". Sad, I was a Palm fan since 1987 or so <sigh>.

The BB has been good so far and I haven't tried to tap the screen in a week. I think I am over it! Only concern I have is memory. Yeah, just like the Treo. Looks like I have to do a dance to free up poorly used or wasted space, delete unnecessary themes, programs, etc. to reclaim about 25mb. I have been watching it dip to below 10mb free after 12 days. I also saw mention of memory leakage in 8830s, but that has to be another day.
Well, no wonder I don't miss the Treo. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
