Virus problems
One of the biggest problems with palm phones is viruses . My friend has a blackberry pearl but here is a virus on his phone and dose not know how to get rid of the virus .

Have him refer to the manual that came with the phone, you should be able to remove those from the phone, but have to refer to the manual on this topic.

I've never heard of active viruses for a phone and it certainly never seemed like a problem. One thing i'd say is that at least with Palm's Treos it's not possible for a virus to run in the background!

What is the operating system on the Treo. If the operating sytem is windows based it is possible to have a virus. You need to make sure that you have proper software to combat those though.

I have never heard of a virus on a BlackBerry...please keep us informed when you find out more.

I have to agree its quite hard to figure out how the virus would spread, I have heard rumours of phones OS virus's but never seen or read anythnig concrete

Having a virus on a phone is very odd, as most viruses are designed to target Windows, as that is (by far) the most commonly user Operating System.
I'd suggest he/she gets in contact with the BlackBerry Tech Support - I don't know how else you'd be able to fix it...
