burn dvd
so my ex-boss asks me to copy a dvd of one of his war buddies... on my fairly new Sony Vaio i have Roxio Easy Media Creator, so i try one over the weekend and it worked.. turns out he wants 10 copies, so last night i try again and without fail every time it stops at the exact same point (both on the original and copy) reporting "there was a problem reading the disc you are trying to copy. please make sure your disc is free of fingerprints, scratches, or dust then try again" (checked over and over.. disc sparkle clean)
running out of ideas (& patience :}
any ideas ?
might give it a whirl on my boss' Vaio (same as mine) to rule out the dvd drive.

use dvd decrypter to read the disc. it will copy over vob files.
then take that the largest one and using dvd dcrypter write it to a disc.
or burn an iso file of the dvd you made and then write that iso back.
Roxio sucks.
Nero is the way to go.

I have been using DVD43 as a decrypter and OneClickDVD as a burner. They work beautifully together and I have not had any issues.
OneClick is not free, but I paid and am very happy. I don't even remember how much...That's how much I like it.

Have you tried playing through the DVD to see if it will play the whole thing. It is possible that something happened to the source DVD from the time you burnt the first copy until you attempted to make the second copy.
You also might try using the copy you already made to make the additional copies, sometimes stuff like works for some reason.
