*sigh* Stars should have never traded Jussi Jokinen. I know we got Brad Richards and he's in a league of his own, but we could have used a bit more depth this year with all the injuries.

That's the problem with getting a big star. Yeah, they will help, but if their supporting cast goes down with injuries, it does no good. Always need good role players, so you can cycle players as need be.

i think the stars have a good group of supporting players, they had some surprisingly good years from guys like Eriksson, James Neal, and Steve Ott. If Lehtinen, Morrow, Zubov, Richards can come back and stay healthy and Modano doesn't retire the Stars will be as good as they were last year when they made it to the West finals. With the injuries the stars had i'm surprised they got as close as they did to making the playoffs.

True, if that happens, the Stars will be a force in the West next year. But with Modano, it kind of feels like it did in 2006, when Yzerman hung it up.

yeah we have alot of young talent, although Turco needs to get things right in his head.
Modano...it's a tough subject. he shows at times he's still got that brilliance. he's still one of the faster skaters on the ice. he can still score at times. his defense which made him a great two way player has rapidly declined. It will be sad seeing a legend bow out, but i think the stars will do fine without him. I just don't think he'll go out on a sour note like last season knowing the talent that's around him.
Problem is, I still think San Jose and Detroit stand in their way of going to the finals as I think they are both just as talented and probably better coached. Then again anything can happen as the Ducks just showed us.

Tried to wait at least 24 hours after. Tough loss. At least the Rangers lost, so it was a completely lost evening. When I switched on the Devils game, I thought it was done or at least going to OT. I texted my friend to throw on OT.
So looking forward to Crosby vs Ovechkin. Great players who dislike one another for a chance to go to the Eastern Conference Finals? Sign me up. I'm officially out of MSG-SD and into VS HD. Add to the fact that the Isles get a higher 1st round pick with the Ducks beating the Sharks and they get a 3rd round pick for Guerin after the Pens made it out of the first round. It's all good.

Pens-Caps will be a good series, but I want to see(other than Detroit-Anaheim) is Vancouver-Chicago. The last time they played about a month ago, there were 80 PIM's in the third period. I am thinking it should have the same hatred as Detroit-Colorado back in the 90's.

Wasn't that excited about Chi-Van matchup, but will definitely tune in. Bummed that Caps-Pens doesn't start until Saturday.

i think all the series are gonna be good. don't discount Anaheim, they are not a typical #8 seed.

That's what bothers me. If their goalie plays like he did against the Sharks, it will be a rough one. But, the Ducks better not take any stupid penalties. Ask Columbus what happens when you do.
