Verizon sales rep fired and manager fired.

Okay, so i decided to take my fiance to look at blackberries or maybe a voyager from verizon at a verizon wireless corp owned store...

One rep guy decided to get all errogant and try to sell us other crap and i simply told him she was looking into a blackberry... I see some new bluetooth headset so i step away for a min while he goes in the back, He comes back out and shes asking him what kinds of things can the pearl do and i start walking back all the sudden i hear "your really cute, can i get your number?" i see her look at him like "WTF?" and shes says "excuse me .. im engaged!" he says (and im still in shock about this) "so?" so im behind this guy and i instantly say hey you motherf*****! he turns around and laughs and says he was just joking and i say "how about i slam your face into the sidewalk outside for all these people to see" he just smirks and walks away..

We both went to the manager explained exactly what happened and he brought him out and questioned him. The manager comes back saying he never did anything of the sort and i am at boiling point here already.. so i shout "are you calling a customer a liar?" bitter words were exchanged after that and we left.

I called the corp customer service and once again explain everything they said administrative would call me back shortly, after a few hours a rick (district manager) calls me and says he promises to find out what happened and he will deal with this swiftly.

Next day i get a call back from Rick and he told me that he has dealt with the issue and sevearly apoligizes for the situation then asks for my account number... i get a credit for my upcomming month off my bill.

I go back to the same store the next day looking for answers and an apology... both manager and that sales rep got totally sh** canned.

long story but i feel better at the end.

WOW. What a story. It sucks they lost their jobs in this economy, but at the same time, I'm glad it worked out in your favor. That was plain rude of the salesperson and also the manager. IMO, they deserved what they got. Something kinda sorta not really but similarish happened with me when I had to take my car in for service. Made me feel good.

It amazes me that in this day and age anyone would think a pick-up attempt in a place of business is a good idea. The manager's response, or lack of a response, probably shows why that attitude might have tolerated and allowed to occur.

I have to believe that the salesperson's attempt was not his first and there were probably other complaints, but they fell on deaf ears with the bozo manager. Your persistence and refusal to accept the customer disservice done by the manager was the key.

Once corporate gets involved they must take decisive action and in this case it looks like that did occur. Kudos to you for not accepting what was clearly a complete mishandling by the incompetent former manager. Who knows, the manager and salesperson could have been buddies, cousins or brothers. If so, I hope they have sisters.....

Glad to see that at some level, a giant faceless corporation still have a few values. Nice to see some action on this. I have no remorse for the people that lost their jobs.

Yeah, the district even called me back (again) a few days ago.. asking me if there was anything he could do further that would make me satisfied with the actions taken and allow verizon keep me as a valuable client.

Im not a horde here so i told him dealing with the un-professional workers was satisfactory enough for me... im not going to hold verizon itself accountable for 2 peoples actions.

I told him so far every experence with verizon has been pleasent and by dealing with it quickly and the punishment fit the crime... im satisfied and so is my fiance.

i didnt even ask for 1 month credit... he just said im doing this for you just as a further apoligy for the events that happened, my bill is only 179 a month but its still a nice gesture... i dont know how 179 is a valuable client or maybe its because ive been with verizon for 3 years.. dunno..

    anyways im happy...

Hey, if they are afraid of losing a customer, even with today's economic times, anything to help with retention.
