Hi, I have a question but I don't no if you help me.. (sorry I don't speak english very well)I buy my blackberry on ebay and it come from U.S.A(with verizon company) And how can I change for telus company (in qubec city)??? My phone don't have a simcard...
Welcome to EB. You might want to start a new thread on this topic. This isn't the proper thread for this. EDIT so I don't look stupid(er than usual): I posted this when the OP posted this in the BB OS upgrade thread.
Hi Tray and welcome to EB: I have moved your question to the Curve forum so it stands a better chance of being seen. You indicated you bought a VZW BB and since you said it does not have a SIM card I am guessing it might be a Curve. Please tell us what BB it is so I can be sure the thread is in the right forum. It appears to me that Telus, like Verizon, is a CDMA carrier, but CDMA phones cannot be unlocked to function on different networks the way GSM phones can be. GSM system phones use SIM cards. I think in Canada Rogers is the big GSM company. You will have to ask Telus if they will be willing to activate your new BB on their network. If they say no I am afraid there is no way that you will be able to. They have to authorize and activate the phone on their network in order for it to function. If they decline to do that there is nothing I am aware of you can do to get it to work. I hope the eBay seller did not tell you that you could make this work. If he did, have him explain how. Can you return it for a refund or exchange it for a Telus branded BB?
Here's an idea.. If stevetaz' was correct about the phone not working on Telus because it's CDMA, couldn't you try selling the one you bought off eBay and buy one for Telus?
I believe I read somewhere that Telus and Bell were both moving from cdma to gsm technology by the end of 2010.
If that is the case, they may not do it. I would do what Sav suggested. Put it back on eBay, and buy a new one from Tellus.
