i recently saw a lot of people are concerned about playbook battery life. some people say the blackBerry playBook battery will last 10 hours when you're busy browsing the web, watching movies, listening to music, sending emails, etc. i usually watch movies and listen to music on my playbook. 10 hours is enough for me. but i want to know whether the video format impact battery life.

i know avi format video may take up more space than the MP4 format. hd movies are larger. if the MP4 would be better for battery life? any info will help, thanks.

    Hi Michaelae:

I am not sure that worrying about how the vido format affect battery life is really the thing to concern yourself with. As you may know the bigger concern is what format will play because of the codecs used. There has been some issue with audio not playing in a supposedly supported format and that is correctable, but the audio track has to be converted to a supported codec. I have heard of some issues with audio playing, but not video playing. This is due to the codec used, but I haven't seen that yet. I really haven't had much time to explore all the video capabilities of the PlayBook yet.

My vote is for the format that plays correctly, audio, video and in full-screen. MP4 seems to be the most consistent so far....

As far as i know, the video format affect the video size and quality, when i search if it at the same time it also have a significant impact on the battery life when running a video in the background. The MP4 format are almost compatible to all the device, may be it's a better choice when playing movies on blackberry playbook.

Look Shery, if you are going to join to participate, that is great. If you are just trying to get a link out for a software vendor you are associated with that is not too nice.

I will delete the link you posted because it is not freeware and costs $60! Post their link again and I will ban you.
