A unsubstantiated rumor was floating among day traders indicating that Microsoft might be interesting in acquiring Research In Motion.
With Google considering a move into the mobile space, the thought was that Microsoft aquiring RIM would further secure their position in the mobile smartphone space. Obviously, it would be odd seeing Microsoft selling Blackberry devices running the BlackBerry OS. It wouldn't be above the Redmond giant to limit competition by buying them out.
